London Olympics Opening Ceremony

Danny Boyle is a genius. The volunteers were unbelievable. The Queen is a legend! The whole thing was amazing, but then i do have a few (well more than a few really) favourite bits.
  • The industrial age and the mystery of the 'sprouting' chimneys
  • The five glowing rings
  • James Bond, The Queen and that cheeky little smirk she had. The best bit??
  • Mr Bean and his single note Chariots of Fire...awesome
  • the best soundtrack ever
  • Ban Ki Moon, Haile Gebrselassie, Doreen Lawrence and of course Muhammad Ali helping carry the Olympic flag
  • David Beckham on a speed boat with the torch...pretty cool
  • The best Olympic cauldron EVER
  • And the most inspiring lighting of the torch.
Makes you proud, right?

These are some of the photographs from the dress rehearsal at the beginning of the week. It was amazing how they allowed everyone to photograph and film the most secret event of the year and trusted us to keep it quiet. i think that's why we did...a mutual respect thing. A lot of the people there were volunteering at the games and were awarded tickets for their generosity.  I got the ticket through my Mum who is volunteering at the Paralympics. Thanks to her, i get to add this as one of the best experiences of my life.
